There are a number of beautiful parks and reserves, waterfront, secluded and private spots for weddings which feature a beautiful a backdrop for that special memory or your magic moment

Manly Area

Shelly Beach is at Bower Street, Manly is a lovely, small beach surrounded by large, shady trees. Marquees are not permitted on Shelly Beach.

Little Manly Point, Stuart Street, Manly has seating and some types of marquees are permissible. Bookings are only required if 30 or more people are attending the wedding or if a marquee is to be erected.

Clontarf Reserve, Sandy Bay Road, Clontarf has areas which are suitable for weddings up to 150 people. There is a gazebo, seating, shady trees and some types of marquees are permissible.

Mosman Area

In the Mosman area, parks, beaches and reserves come under two areas of control - Mosman Council and the National Parks and Wildlife Service (NPWS).  The most popular places for weddings are the Esplanade at Balmoral, Clifton Gardens Reserve and Chinaman's Beach.

Pittwater Area

The Pittwatter area is known for its natural beauty with long stretches of open beaches, rugged headlands, sandstone cliffs, tranquil waterways and native bushland.

The Pittwater Council has many beaches and reserves available for hire and the most popular are listed below. To find out about other parks and reserves or to book for your wedding contact the council's Reserves and Recreation Branch on 9970-7222. When you book a reserve an application will be posted to you and you will be advised of fees and conditions of booking.

Bilarong Reserve is located off Wakehurst Parkway, North Narrabeen
Mona Vale Headland is off Hillcrest Avenue between Basin Beach and Bungan Beach.
McCarrs Creek Reserve, McCarrs Creek Road, Church Point
Rowland Reserve, Pittwater Road, Bayview
Malo Reserve, at the end of Malo Road, Whale Beach
Governor Phillip Park is located off Beach Road, Palm Beach

NOTE:
 

If you are looking for a harbourside location there is the 15 metre deep boardwalk around Luna Park at Milsons Point. Located almost beneath the Harbour Bridge it has spectacular views of the Opera House, the city, Lavender Bay and Balmain and is available for photographs or ceremonies of less than 60 guests. It is worth noting that it is a very busy area and you cannot have exclusive use of the boardwalk, however there is no charge or time limit. Contact North Sydney Council on 9936 8100 for more information.

Luna Park itself is also available for wedding photographs. Built in the 1930s and recently restored, photos can be taken amongst the rides of this historic amusement park such as the Wild Mouse, Dodgem Cars, Tumblebug, Rotor and the Ferris Wheel, or with a backdrop of the Crystal Palace, Coney Island or the iconic, laughing Face. The fee is $300 and there is no time limit. Luna Park is at 1 Olympic Drive, Milsons Point and more information can be obtained by contacting 9033 7592.
